Student’s view toward VANIVIHAR massacre

6000 SCAPEGOATS !!!

500 CAUSALITIES !!!

38 LOCKED UP !!!

15 SEVERE INJURIES!!!

This became the scenario on 20^th May 2010, at the heart of the city VANIVIHAR SQUARE.

Two days earlier it started with a genuine cause by some BPUT students(250) to shift the semester examination.

Reason For Protest

• 7^th and 5^th semester rechecking results not out yet.
• Many BPUT students who got overwhelming results in GATE 2010 are unable to attend GATE 2010 counselling as exam dates are colliding with counselling dates.
  {25^th May-4^th June}
• If exams can be shifted from 12^th May to 26^th May because of some college requests(Silicon) and fault by Academic Council then when there are genuine causes why not now???

Unanswared Questions

• If BPUT got high court notice why not to tell it at the earliest???
• By the way do you think one ordinary student will ever think to file a petition for normal continuity of BPUT exams???
• Why that fellow SOFEN is missing now???
• Why VC shifted exams from 12 to 26???
• Will those students who qualified for GATE 2010 counseling will waste a year just for nothing???
• What did the AOBSA & BSU president did to stop the massacre today???
• Why hiding Political melodrama inside a loose bond of 6000 BPUT student’s precious lives???
• Was there politics inside BPUT or there was a tug-of-war between BJD & CONGRESS where BPUT student are fucked off???
• Did Himanshu Lal’s work was acceptable???
  Engineering student are well educated, police platoons covering up from all side and hitting students wherever possible just like dogs ,No way to escape, hands legs swollen, Heads broken, still beating the innocents, is not this dadagiri of police???
• Did Orissa Police followed the right way for lathi charge???
  They gave no warning; no false hitting on ground directly attacked those who were sitting on road???
  They hit over waist high on chest, back, head, internal parts etc.
• Why girls were also not spared?

The Real Facts as Perceived From Various Sources:

As we went to BPUT office on 18^th May to put our demands in front of VC (Jitendriya Kumar Satpathy) for shifting the exams, the only thing we heard was

“NO”.

I have done enough and your demands are not genuine. By the way if some 300 people are affected then they can give their exams in SPECIAL Examination.(Indirectly they should give priority to BPUT exams else they loose distinction, forget about Gate counseling they are not proud BPUT students and don’t have right to give examination with other students).

Why one should give special exams when he/she is eligible to give normal examinations. So Mr. VC called Police Protection and left BPUT Office that day.

This fact that so many BPUT student came for strike, gave a motive to politicians to prove their point.

They decided to use this matter in favour of them (as seen in films) they tried to get a stay order on the petition already being filed earlier. But unfortunately this is INDIAN Court and proceeding takes not less than 4-5 days. So BPUT students had no other option then strike.

Most important questions:

· How and why Sofen lodged the petition, was there any pressure from BPUT side.

· Why Chinmaya Sahoo entered into this despite of knowing BSU President is a BJD supporter, Did politician tried to play dirty with our lives???

· Why did a highly educated Himanshu Lal (DCP) made a merciless attack on innocent BPUT students.( attacking students without following proper norms of LATHI CHARGE beating brutally all the students).

· What happened to SATISH (BSU President) who initiated the strike???( Going for press conference at O-TV)

· What happened to Chinmaya Sahoo???

Finally those who are affected by this are those 5999 BPUT students who went there with a faith that yes this is a fight for our Right .

Those who got hurt severely can they attend exams???

Orissa police Dadagiri will any action be taken against them especially will Himanshu Lal be suspended for his inhuman deed???

Why politicians always try to play dirty politics wherever possible???

What will those students now do who qualified GATE 2010 Counseling???
